About the artwork: In my work I seek another place, where nature ends and urban architecture begins.
I mean the relationship between urbanism, which conquers open spaces, and nature, which is being conquered, yet fights back with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions or tsunami.
Or the mutual relationship in which urbanism adopts nature and cultivates it, like what happens in Japanese rock gardens or in artificial “green lungs”.
By gluing pieces of reality onto an embossment of different materials using diverse techniques, I create a collage of a new reference, enabling reality and fantasy to connect intimately.
With this manual compulsive labor I create an image that is full of formative and cultural contrasts.
They are emptied of their realistic volume and create an iconic language that unites the different layers.
The essence of this language is embodied by the contour lines between the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional, and obscures as a playful illusion with the viewer.
