About the artwork:
This work was created during period I used to live in NYC. During that period I used to wander a lot around the city, wondering how to represent the American cliché, “The American dream”, through the lens. These thoughts led me thinking about my own, personal “American Dream”, how it connects to my own background and identity. My experience gave me a feeling of a scale that is unfamiliar for me, as a person who comes from a small country. This specific piece is influenced by the point of view that was a part of my journey. The common interest of my photographic journey deals with questions about representations and images regarding the complex states of sexuality. One of the main interests of my work is the inner syntax, which bonds images together. In that sense when I link two different images, coming from two different worlds seemingly, it creates something new.
