About the Artist:
Tolla Inbar was born in Germany in 1958. She attended Merz School in Stuttgart specializing in the arts of ceramics and sculpture until 1971. Between 1977 and 1984, she studied at Bustan Institute and at Avni Institute of Arts, working with stone and wood alongside well-established Russian sculptors.

After years of experimenting with different materials, her style changed from realistic and figurative to more expressive and semi-abstract. She began to develop a unique naturalistic style in 1995, combining wood, metal and bronze with different materials that permit her to reach the rope sculpture’s ideas.

Tolla's conviction is that our world is composed mostly of light and energy, so that theoretically the victory of energy (spirit) over matter is only a question of time. This sense of movement, which reflects tension and balance, is present in her works.

Her sculptures are reflections of life in which the body is the collective spirit of the universe. This artistic philosophy brings into question the essence of being and the relationships that help us find our place in this world.

Recently, she has moved into environmental sculpture making so her elegant designs could be placed outside.

Tolla’s work can be found in notable private and corporate art collections in Germany, France, USA and Israel, including The Museum of Liberty in Philadelphia, President and Mrs. Clinton’s private art collection, and the renowned international sculpture collection of Leonard WIEN, which includes original pieces by Rodin and other masters.
